Title
EDUL 6026 Term Project

Cristy Lambert-Smith | Gregory Kirkland | Harold Culbreth
The following objectives are based on QCC standards for 9-12 Health from the above website. These objectives are written according to Tyler’s third way of writing objectives. These objectives are stated in the generalized patterns of behavior which do not indicate more specifically the area of life or the content to which the behavior applies. These objectives should be stated so that they can be expressed in terms which identify both the kind of behavior to be developed in the student and the content or area of life in which the behavior is to operate. Each objective is re-written so that they conform to Tyler’s criteria for good objectives. Changes are in italics.

  • Determines how adolescent use of alcohol and other drugs contributes to accidents, crime, and suicide by researching deaths due to binge drinking and writing a report on it.
  • Recalls the leading causes of teen morbidity and mortality and formulates methods of prevention of each. I feel this meets Tyler’s criteria for a good objective.
  • Recognizes that alcohol, tobacco, and other drug dependencies are treatable diseases/conditions and identifies appropriate community resources through the use of the internet.
  • Compares how alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and nonuse impacts personal goals, educational opportunities, and occupational choices by researching deaths due to alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.
  • Lists early symptoms and long-term consequences of syphilis, gonorrhea, genital herpes, chlamydia, genital warts (HPV), HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases by examining case studies from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website.
